Ps Wendy Rodriguez has been a part of the Southern Lights family since December 2002. In 2003 she completed Call to Discipling before entering into full time study at Tabor College Victoria. She now holds a Bachelors Degree in Ministry. Ps Wendy is the Children's Pastor and co-ordinates Southern Stars, our Sunday morning Children's ministry at Southern Lights. Wendy's heart for Southern Lights can be summed up by
2 Timothy 3:16 & 17 'All Scripture is God breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the person of God may be fully equipped for every good work'. Her desire is to see the people of Southern Lights grow into maturity so that they can be effective in life, ministry & the Kingdom of God.
Ps Wendy grew up in the Anglican Church and gave her heart to the Lord at thirteen whilst on a family holiday. Her love for the Lord continues to grow as she pursues Him and desires to see others come into a deeper relationship with the Lord. Wendy's skills and gifts are in the areas of teaching, leadership and administration.
In December 2007 Wendy married Joshua Rodriguez, who first became a part of the Southern Lights family as a missionary to help establish The Master's Commission, a full time discipleship course run by Southern Lights. Joshua is originally from the United States. Joshua was introduced to full time ministry from the age of 12 and has travelled to minster in the United States, Mexico and Europe. Joshua was a Master's Commission student and intern in the United States. Joshua also spent two years in Switzerland as a missionary helping to establish The Master's Commission there.
Recently, Joshua & Wendy have celebrated the birth of their first child, Zion Pierce in January 2009.
Discipleship is very much a part of Josh & Wendy's lives. Together they lead a Young Married's Connect 2 Group and Josh is a part of the Creative Ministry team.
Joshua & Ps Wendy, together, are looking forward to seeing the Southern Lights Church family grow and impact the nations.
